Key Ward
Many automotive companies are currently working to bring artificial intelligence into their engineering processes, and many are struggling with the same underlying challenge: not the AI methods themselves, but the data beneath them. Simulation results, test bench measurements, and manufacturing data are typically distributed across a large number of tools and formats. As a consequence, engineers spend a considerable share of their time locating and preparing data rather than doing engineering work, and promising AI initiatives often stall at the handover between engineering and data teams. Key Ward addresses this challenge at its foundation. Our platform connects to simulation tools, test benches, production systems, and databases, and reads more than twenty common engineering data formats without manual preparation. Data is automatically structured, versioned, and made searchable, so that years of CAE, test, and production history become accessible and usable for AI and machine learning. Engineers can then build reusable analysis pipelines and train surrogate and machine learning models directly within the platform, without requiring dedicated data science support. Once created, pipelines and models are applied to every new dataset, allowing engineering knowledge to accumulate over time and remain within the organization, even as experienced specialists retire. Engineering teams at companies such as BorgWarner, GKN Automotive, FEV, and Autoneum work with Key Ward in production today. Their results include RFQ response times reduced from several weeks to days through ML-based prediction in design space exploration, simulation and compute costs lowered substantially through reduced-order modeling, and faster root cause analysis by connecting test data with simulation and manufacturing data.
